Darth Vader - The Empire Strikes Back

Notes : This is one amazing saber. The blood red blade is perfect - dead on in true red color as seen in "Empire." I also noticed the subtle differnce in the power down sound from the Anakin and Luke sabers. It is softer at the beginning, then finishes in a crescendo - just as it sounded after Vader cut off Luke's hand and powered down his saber before asking Luke to join the Dark Side. Having said that, the power up sound, while a true sound effect from other power up sounds used in the films, is not true to the very distinct one always used for Vader, and nearly always for Count Dooku in the prequils. It is a kind of "scream" and very eerie. Anyone who watches "Empire" and listens to the power up sound of Vader's saber after Luke ignites his, will know what I'm talking about. Interestingly enough, it sounds like that "correct" power up sound is used as one of the "clash" sound effects, so I can forgive this oversight. Also, the idle hum is far and away the best of all the FX sabers. It is very low pitched, so low you can actually hear the "beats" of the idle hum, just like in the film. Very menacing and and angry-sounding. Fantastic. The swing sound is also accurate to the authentic Vader saber sounds, and this particualr saber detects swing motion better than any other FX saber I have tried. Fantastic piece. The handle is also nearly dead on with the movie prop. The chrome plated finish and black details make this menacing weapon a saber to behold...
