| Notes : The blue blade is luminous and shimmering, and the shade of blue is very true to the way it looks in the film. Extremely comfortable to wield, the handle of this saber feels the best in my hand of all my Force FX lightsabers. I compared the circumference measurement of my "A New Hope" Icons prop and this lightsaber hilt. The measurements are nearly identical. I understand the FX hilts are made slightly larger than the actual filming prop to accomodate the electronics of the saber, but this is about as close to the actual film prop not just in size, but also in detailing I have seen in any Force FX lightsaber. The sounds are good, particularly the "snap hiss" power up and the slick power down sounds. The idle hum is a little higher pitched than I would like, and the "swing" pitch changes are not as good as the Vader FX saber. This saber also does not seem to be quite as sensitive as the Vader saber in accurately detecting swing movement with sound pitch changes. Still, this is a fantastic saber, and the Force FX sabers are certainly the closest thing I have ever experienced and may ever experience to wielding a real lightsaber. |
