Jedi Knight Revan and HK-47

safe assumption Revan is #306 unless they revert back to p/u 271

I mean it's too bad they couldn't have just retooled it somehow with a new pelvis and barbel thighs. I can live without the rocker ankles, but it's the hips that really help with getting them to stand in cool poses.

Okay, at first I was going to complain that Hasbro can't stick with a single marketing idea. First, Gaming Greats figures were on a Star Wars cardback with the game logo in smaller font on front. Then they moved to having the game as part of the larger Star Wars logo. I thought 'Galaxy of Heroes' was just some stupid generalized marketing crap (like 1985's 'Power of the Force') until I searched it and realized it is a game - but it sounds like a pretty stupid one. So my original complaint stands. Given that they're releasing Revan on a KOTOR card, you'd think they'd do the same with this.

But honestly, I miss the old 'Expanded Universe' cards.

i've been wondering if that is related to the stalling of reveal of the Dath Malgus gaming greats figure- the logo, a new logo would constitute a new tvc # and likely a new card image like rebel fleet trooper ANH vs R1 cards. But on otherhand, Shea and Starkiller were rereleased w/EU logo cards. So yeah, inconsistency.

I'm in for the two pack.

I'm hopeful the Galaxy of Heroes cardback means we can get a Dash Rendar figure sooner than later.
but who would make the ideal pack in- Guri? Leebo? Xixor? Heck, just make 2 2pks or a BadBatch/Jabba goons style 4 pk. But seeing a SOE logo card would look cool though.

I think he simply meant getting a Dash figure is improved due to the "current" source material, it doesn't have to be a 2-pk to put GoH on the card.
It merely falls into Gaming Greats line. And mainly because there's no existing tooling to even make Guri or Leebo, Xixor maybe if they don't mind the Legacy figure repack along side modern articulation. I personally would rather get Dash on an SOTE card over GoH though.

Initially I was thinking "it doesn't need to be a two pack", and it doesn't. But also, if they're gonna dig deep for older figures to make a two pack, I supposed they technically COULD use they old Xizor comic figure and just do a SOTE two pack.

I'm an opener and the cards/cardback/card design/VC# don't mean anything at all to me. But I get that it's an ingrained thing for a segment of collectors. I think options like two packs and deluxe boxes open the doors for this kind of stuff, so I'm happy to see it. Sometimes saying "do whatever you want" can be more limiting than having a box to "think outside of".

Maybe getting reissues/older characters like this should be looked at the same way good exclusives are - nice for those who want em, but non-essential.

Hasbro can go force themselves.

$20 a 3.75” figure?

I’m done. That’s ridiculous and not in line with inflation or other costs they’d have. Hopefully other collectors are smart enough to know when to walk away til things change.

I already mention in the Cal Kestis thread about this 2-pk format, and though carded aspect doesn't concern me and would rather they were in there loose like DLX packaging. It's nice for those who are carded collectors as it may broaden their appeal thus selling more units versus loose.
The prospect I like most about it is utilizing this 2-pk concept for older Legacy era figure reissues, and keeping them Fan channel wouldn't bog down the main line with repacks.

So I'd definitely like to see them go deeper and more diverse than just current media.

I'd actually prefer it if they repainted Bastila Shan black for her Darkside outfit over a 3rd Revan repaint.

I hope they don't, it would be inaccurate. Her dark outfit was different, and wasn't just a black version of her light side outfit.

So I could see Hasbro doing exactly that.

With Leebo.

But since both would involve entirely new tooling I think we're dreaming on this one.

I know, but they're not about to tool up a brand-new figure for what amounts to an alternate look in a game from 20 years ago.

Some things to note about Revan:

His outfit is not the same as the one on the cardback. I don't play cellphone games so I assume the cardback design is based on that version, while the figure is accurate to KotOR.

Revan didn't have his mask when he got the white outfit, but here we're not getting his real face (I also like the suggestion of alternate heads which people have proposed in the past, especially as I have a different preference to the canon version. We ain't getting any though)

The lightsaber is his SWTOR version and not the KotOR version. I've no idea what the GoH one looks like. The Black Series gave us both lightsabers (just as he should later on in his career) but it looks like they're only giving us one here.

As for HK while a brand new sculpt would have been nice I wouldn't expect them to do that. It's a shame they couldn't give us an accurate rifle though instead of that awful old thing. My current HK is holding the rifle that comes with Nein Nunb which makes for a much nicer alternative.

And being that this set is 100% reuse you'd think for an added $3 per figure they could at least tool a new head?
I get that Gaming Great are basically all reuse, but they have gone to the trouble of adding additional tooling for other releases such as the jedi Survivor 3-pk. So including a variant head sculpt isn't too much of a big ask. Perhaps the unit count is so low it simply wasn't feasible, but had it been a variant head sculpt I would have been more inclined to purchase just for that.

I pre-ordered them to keep on cardback just because I want to support future KOTOR releases. The re-use of the 15 year old HK is a bit of a head scratcher to me considering in-game he's a good head taller than the non-Wookie characters, but I never got him, so it'll be nice to have an HK in the collection. Fingers crossed for a properly retooled/tall Black Series figure down the line.

I stand corrected. The cardback picture is accurate to the original KotOR game, so the figure is just a simple inaccurate repaint I'm afraid.

I'm hoping that I can get some kind of KOTOR sicker/label to apply to the card back to cover GoH title. Then I'll be able match it to the basic Revan figure for my "niche" MOC collection.

^ when you get basic line Revan, scan that card back, then reprint on sticker paper....physically cut n paste

I've never done this though, I don't even have that expensive of a printer, just one that prints out regular documents. I've never even tried printing pictures. lol

I guess it doesn't hurt to try, it's only a bit of ink and a sheet of sticker paper.

I have a simple hp printer as well that I've printed full-size custom cardbacks (like my bo katsn avatar) and stuck them to cereral box cut-outs or extra reg fig cardbacks. But one thing to consider, since the sticker paper, esp photo quality, is a bit thinker you don't want to put more than 1 sheet in at a time.
And I've even done partial card images, like the logo as you are talking about doing, and created 2 2011 carbon freeze chamber/lost line sets, see below for 2 examples not best pics because these sets were up high on a shelf where I could not easily get to.

I've heard a couple people comment on turning this Revan into a JTG, and I think they are onto something, and maybe someone could propose a retool in a Q&A to Hasbro. Due to the SG's 100% leg reuse would be fine, so all they would need is a new head, torso, lower arms and belt piece.

Tough I wonder if the required new tooling would prohibit it from being a Pulse 4-pk?

Besides the color scheme and the hood nothing from this Revan figure translates to canon look for the Jedi Temple Guards. If you are going for "good enough" look sure it works I guess.

If it would need a new head, torso, outer armor piece and forearms...why does Revan need to be the base? Literally any figure could be reused for upper arms and hidden legs. The soft goods don't even match up.

Kay then, use Cal Kestis............

Point is they're not gonna tool an all new figure for this character. And this figure's visuals might give them the incentive to look into making a JTG figure via reuse.

It's good when fans think creatively and suggest kitbashes for Hasbro to explore. I can see some potential in a JTG retool from this figure as well, though I have to wonder if that's on Hasbro's radar. Perhaps if the JTG appears in Disney+ content in the future, they might look into it. I certainly would have preferred another version of the JTG compared to this figure, though I'm happy I bought the 5 POA release, as it might not be something they ever revisit.

Great fun will be had in my toyverse. I have heads and weapons which I can use on these bucks as potential Temple Guards. Darth Maul and his Apprentice Rey will be wiping out Jedi Temple Guards soon enough - once they are done with Palpatine's Clones and henchman .

Awesome, probably the best news of the recent release date bumps! Aside from basic Revan of course.

Same here. I'm really looking forward to this set. I flipped my TAC Revan and HK-47 a few years ago for stupid money.
